On this page, you find the ultimate guide and checklist to achieve 100% Completion in GTA 5, with all the required tasks. These include story missions, side missions, collectibles, and activities.

While GTA V is a huge game, Rockstar has been generous with their requirements, as several tasks only need to be partially completed to contribute toward 100%. Your progress towards GTA V 100% Completion can be tracked in the Pause Menu under "Stats > 100% Checklist", or in more detail via the complete checklist on the Rockstar Social Club.

There are five main categories of objectives in the GTA V 100% Checklist: to achieve 100% Completion in GTA 5, you must complete 69 Storyline Missions, 20 Strangers & Freaks missions, 42 Hobbies & Pastimes, 14 Random Events, and 16 miscellaneous activities.

To make the big feat of fully completing Grand Theft Auto V easier for you, we've comprised this full list of what you need to do to achieve 100% completion in GTA 5. For every task required, you can find more detailed information on our site by accessing its respective guide article.

NOTE: In GTA V, nothing prevents you from achieving 100%. You can complete these tasks at any time, in any order you want. You can even safely use cheat codes on your way to 100% completion, as the GTA 5 cheats only block achievements for the current game session, and have no permanent effect when you reload the game.

GTA 5 100% Completion Checklist - Social Club

Complete all GTA V Story Missions (55%)

Finalize the events of the main storyline of GTA V by completing all the 69 main story missions, from Prologue to one of the three Endings (Something Sensible, The Time's Come, or The Third Way).

These also include the optional Lester's Assassination Missions, which should be played after the main storyline is completed, so that you can maximize profit.

Despite the in-game and Social Club checklist listing 69 missions, there are actually more missions available, depending on your choices during the story. However, any heist approach or path you choose is fine, as long as you get to one of the Endings.

In the final mission, choosing Ending C, "The Third Way", is recommended as it allows both Michael and Trevor to survive the end of the storyline.

Find the complete list and guide of all the missions in our GTA V Story Missions guide.

GTA 5 100% Completion - Story Missions

Complete all of Franklin's Strangers and Freaks (10%)

The Strangers & Freaks side missions involve secondary characters that Michael, Franklin, or Trevor can encounter outside the main story.

As Franklin is the only character who is guaranteed to remain playable after the end of the storyline, his Strangers & Freaks missions are the only ones required for 100% completion. The Strangers & Freaks missions for Michael and Trevor are NOT required.

So, out of 66 total Strangers & Freaks missions available, only 24 are required for 100% completion:

  • Barry: 4 missions (Franklin's only. Note: 2 of them are not listed on Social Club)
  • Beverly: 6 missions (Note: 2 of them are not listed on Social Club)
  • Dom: 4 missions (Requires completing all 13 Parachute Jumps)
  • Hao: 1 mission
  • Mary-Ann: 1 mission (Franklin's only)
  • Omega: 2 missions (Requires collecting all 50 Spaceship Parts)
  • Peter Dreyfuss: 1 mission (Requires collecting all 50 Letter Scraps)
  • Tonya: 5 missions

Note: Despite the in-game checklist indicating 20 Strangers & Freaks missions for Franklin, there are actually 24 missions to complete. For some reason, 4 of his missions are not listed on the official checklists, but they're still required.

Find the full list and guide to these side missions in our GTA V Strangers & Freaks guide.

There are many random encounters to be found around the map, a total of 60 random events to be exact, where you can decide to help or hinder various NPCs.

These are short free roam missions that appear randomly when traveling throughout San Andreas and can be triggered by any of the three protagonists. They are shown on the map by either a blue dot (for someone who needs help) or a red dot (for an enemy that needs to be stopped)

You only need to complete any of these 14 Random Events to progress your GTA V 100% completion percentage, the choice of which ones is yours.

Booty calls can also be obtained from other game activities, such as random encounters (unlocking Ursula), or private taxi fares (which can unlock Liz Macallen).

Prostitutes appear on sidewalks, usually during nighttime. Picking one up and accepting her services will cost you some amount of money, depending on the service chosen.

Hold Up a Store

Go to any convenience store in Los Santos and aim a gun at the clerk. Usually, they will begin placing money in a bag.

After taking the cash, a wanted level will be issued, so prepare to flee from the police.

Visit the Cinema

Go to one of the three available cinemas (Tivoli Cinema, Ten Cent Theater, or Oriental Theater) by yourself and watch a movie.

You don't have to watch the whole movie, you can quit at any time and the requirement will still count.

A staple of Grand Theft Auto games, stunt jumps require you to find and take certain ramps at high speed, and land safely on the other side.

While there are 50 Stunt Jump locations in Grand Theft Auto V, you only need to complete 25 of these stunts for 100% completion of the game. However, all 50 Stunt Jumps are still required to obtain the dedicated "Show Off" achievement / trophy.

It's recommended to do the stunt jumps while playing as Franklin, and to use of the quick save feature before attempting every jump.

While there are a total of 15 knife flights to perform around Los Santos, you only need to execute 8 of these stunts for 100% completion of the game.

However, all 15 knife flights are still required to obtain the dedicated "Close Shave" achievement / trophy.

Alright, you've completed Grand Theft Auto V in its entirety, but you don't want to stop playing the game. What do you do?

There are a lot of things to do in Grand Theft Auto V, and not all of them are necessary for 100% completion. Despite this, some might still contribute to other Achievements/Trophies, or can be done just for fun!

Tasks listed on Rockstar Social Club

The Rockstar Social Club features a 100% Checklist Progress page that shows exactly which missions and activities you completed, and which are still left to do.

Each category in the Rockstar Social Club also lists additional objectives that are not required for 100% of the game (only the items with a colored border are those that contribute to the GTA 5 100% completion), but that are still available to play and experience.

Complete Michael's and Trevor's Strangers and Freaks

While only Franklin's Strangers & Freaks missions are required for 100%, Michael and Trevor also have their unique characters they can encounter outside the main story.

Find the full list and guide to these side missions in our GTA V Strangers & Freaks guide.

Note: If you choose Ending A or Ending B, either Trevor's or Michael's Strangers & Freaks missions will become unavailable after the end of the storyline. That's why Rockstar decided to not make them required for the GTA 5 100% completion.

GTA 5 Strangers & Freaks - Death at Sea

Complete the remaining Hobbies and Pastimes

As mentioned earlier, only 42 out of the 61 Hobbies and Pastimes are required for 100% of the game.
