Flight School Challenges

The Flight School is an activity in Grand Theft Auto V and GTA Online that teaches the player advanced flight techniques and maneuvers to improve their flight skill.

In GTA V Story Mode this is an optional endeavor, but obtaining at least a bronze medal in all lessons is required for 100% Completion.

The Flight School is located on Exceptionalists Way at the Los Santos International Airport.

This side activity is also present in GTA Online and GTA San Andreas.

Flight School Challenges: Story Mode Lessons

There are 12 Flight School Lessons, and for each one the player will be awarded a medal (gold, silver, or bronze), depending on the performance.

1. Training Take Off

Vehicle: Cuban 800
Take off and pass through two checkpoints.

2. Runway Landing

Vehicle: Cuban 800
Land safely on the runway.

3. Inverted Flight

Vehicle: Mallard
Perform barrel rolls and fly upside down.

4. Knife Flight

Vehicle: Mallard
Fly sideways and maintain altitude with the rudder.

5. Flat Hatting

Vehicle: Mallard
Fly a checkpoint course through the Port of Los Santos and the LSIA maintaining a low altitude.

6. Touch Down

Vehicle: Mallard
Land a plane on a bridge in Lago Zancudo as close as the final checkpoint as possible.

7. Loop the Loop

Vehicle: Mallard
Perform an inside loop.

8. Helicopter Course

Vehicle: Frogger
Fly through checkpoints in a helicopter through Los Santos.

9. Helicopter Speed Run

Vehicle: Frogger
Fly through checkpoints in a helicopter through the Palomino Highlands and Los Santos as fast as possible.

10. Skydiving

Skydive and land on a stationary target.

11. Drop Zone

Skydive and land on a moving target.

12. Earn Your Wings

Vehicle: Mallard
Course through the city performing stunts learned in the previous lessons. Green checkpoints are for knife flights and blue checkpoints for inverted flights.

Story Mode Rewards

After completing all the lessons in GTA V, several aircraft will start spawning across the state of San Andreas.

Completing these lessons increases the protagonists' flight skills drastically and is also necessary for 100% Completion.

Flight School Challenges: GTA Online Lessons

Flight School was added to GTA Online with the San Andreas Flight School Update in August 2014. There are 10 lessons to pass in GTA Online:

1. Outside Loop

Vehicle: P-996 Lazer
Perform an outside loop.

2. Engine Failure

Vehicle: Miljet
Land the Miljet with an engine failure.

3. Chase Parachute

Catch a parachute in midair and land safely.

4. City Landing

Vehicle: Titan
Land a plane in bad weather conditions.

5. Moving Landing

Vehicle: Swift
Land a Swift on a flatbed trailer before it drives into the tunnel.

6. Formation Flight

Vehicle: Besra
Fly in formation.

7. Shooting Range

Vehicle: Buzzard Attack Chopper
Destroy targets using a Buzzard.

8. Ground Level

Vehicle: Besra
Fly through checkpoints, keeping as close to the ground as possible.

9. Collect Flags

Vehicle: Besra
Fly through 30 checkpoints in any order.

10. Follow Leader

Vehicle: P-996 Lazer
Follow your instructor.

GTA Online Rewards

After completing all the lessons in GTA Online with at least a bronze medal, the player will unlock the Elitas T-shirt, and an additional $18,600 if all the lessons are completed with gold medals.

Every lesson awards the player with an amount of money and RP, a cumulative $232,500 and 13,950 RP for acquiring gold on the first completion of every mission.
