GTA 4 Safehouses & Properties Guide (GTA IV, TLaD & TBoGT)
On this page you find all the safehouses and properties available in Grand Theft Auto IV, as well as in The Episodes from Liberty City (TLaD & TBoGT).
Like previous games, safehouses in GTA IV & Episodes allow you to save progress, store vehicles, use a wardrobe to change clothes, and now give the ability to watch TV. However, there are no purchasable properties in GTA 4, and all safehouses are given to the player automatically, for free.
In GTA IV, saving the game works by approaching the bed in your safe house and selecting the option to sleep and save. And instead of using garages, vehicles can be stored in reserved parking spots outside of the safehouses, marked by yellow lines. Each safehouse provides space to store 2 vehicles.
Clicking on a safehouse brings you to their detailed information, location, how to unlock each property, and more.
All Safehouses in GTA 4: Full List & Locations
In GTA IV there are 5 safehouses locations available to Niko across Liberty City, which are unlocked automatically as you progress through the story.
There is one safe house located in Broker, one in Bohan, two in Algonquin, and one in Alderney, granting a total of 10 parking spaces.
The Playboy X Penthouse can be missed, as it's only obtained if you decide to kill Playboy X in the mission "The Holland Play". Also, the Broker apartment is lost after the mission "Roman's Sorrow", but its parking space can still be used.

Safehouses in GTA IV: The Lost and Damned
In GTA IV: The Lost and Damned, Johnny has 2 safehouses at his disposal: the Lost MC Clubhouse available from the beginning, and Brian Jeremy's Safehouse which is unlocked automatically as you progress through the story.
The Lost MC Clubhouse is much larger than a standard safehouse, featuring playing cards, an Arm Wrestling table, a Pool table, and a QUB3D arcade machine. However, it's still possible to only save two vehicles in the outside parking space, like a normal safehouse.
The MC Clubhouse becomes inaccessible after "Get Lost", the final storyline mission of The Lost and Damned.

Can you buy Properties in GTA 4?
No, you cannot purchase properties or houses in GTA IV and Episodes from Liberty City.
Unlike GTA Vice City and GTA San Andreas, buying properties is not a feature in GTA IV, meaning that the safe houses automatically provided for free to the protagonists are the only saving points in the game.
There are no new properties to buy in GTA IV, and the same goes for The Lost and Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony.
