Darts is a mini-game available in Grand Theft Auto V and GTA Online, a fun sport that can be played at the Yellow Jack Inn in the Grand Senora Desert, next to Sandy Shores. In Grand Theft Auto: Online, Darts can also be played at MC Clubhouses.
The aim of the game is to reach zero points as quickly as possible from the original 301, by shooting darts at numbered areas on the board.
This is an optional endeavor, but winning a game of Darts is required for 100% Completion of the game.
This side activity is also present in GTA Online and Grand Theft Auto IV.
Darts: Rules
These are the general rules of a GTA V Darts game:
- Points are scored by hitting the 20 numbered sections on the darts board, which are numbered from 1 to 20.
- The number on the outer rim of the board represents its base points value.
- Hitting a large portion (black or white) of a section scores its base points value.
- Hitting an outer (red or green) band of a section scores you double points for that dart.
- Hitting the inner (red or green) band of a section scores you triple points for that dart.
- The bullseye is the circle in the center of the board. Hitting the outer ring scores you 25 points, while the inner circle (the bull) scores you 50 points.
- The purpose of the game is to reduce your score to exactly zero from 301, before your opponent does.
- The winning dart (the dart that reduces your score to 0) must hit a double or the bull. Not doubling out has your score reset to the previous score, and ends your turn (this is called a bust). Reducing your score to 1 also leads to a bust, as it is impossible to score a 1 with a double.
During aiming, the player's crosshair trembles violently, making aiming difficult. Focusing for a few seconds allows the player to finely adjust their aim to hit the desired area.
