Hunting Challenges

Hunting is an activity featured in Grand Theft Auto V, available for Trevor Philips between 5:00 and 21:00. This is an optional endeavor, not required for 100% Completion of the game.

Hunting is unlocked after completion of Fair Game, Cletus Ewing's final Strangers & Freaks mission, and is available in the Chiliad Mountain State Wilderness.

Trevor is equipped with an Animal Call when hunting. He automatically wears Hunting Outfit, and has a Sniper Rifle with infinite ammunition and a Blazer quadbike at his disposal.

Each kill must be photographed and sent to Cletus using Trevor's phone. Cletus then sends money to Trevor based on the type of animal killed and how it was killed. When the time is up, Cletus texts Trevor to return to the trailer, as the hunting day is over.

Hunting Challenges: Scoring System

Cletus awards Trevor with money and points based on what animals he kills and how he kills them. Trevor needs to accumulate 90 points for a gold medal, 60 points for a silver medal, and 30 points for a bronze medal.

The weapon used by Trevor affects the amount of money awarded by Cletus. Heavier, more destructive weapons award less money than precise weapons, such as Sniper Rifles.

There are 3 categories of challenges for Trevor to complete, which grant him more points, easing the process of acquiring the Gold Medal for the Hunting activity.

Master Hunter Challenges

Rank 1: Kill an Elk with a heart shot.
Rank 2: Kill 2 Elk in a row without a call.
Rank 3: Kill 3 Elk in a row undetected.
Rank 4: Kill 4 Elk within 4 minutes.
Rank 5: Kill 2 Elk with a single shot.

Weapon Master Challenges

Rank 1: Kill a Coyote with a shotgun.
Rank 2: Run a Boar over.
Rank 3: Kill a Mountain Lion with a grenade.
Rank 4: Kill an Elk without looking through the scope.
Rank 5: Kill any Bird with the Sniper Rifle.
