The Altruists are a Religious Cult featured in Grand Theft Auto V and GTA Online.
An "altruist" is a person who has an unselfish concern for the welfare of others. In Zoology, the word is applied to instinctive behavior that is detrimental to the individual but favors the survival or spread of that individual's genes, as by benefiting its relatives.
The Altruist Cult is a religion comprised of elderly men from the baby boomer generation, believing that all generations after them are the cause of every problem in the world. They have a strong distaste for technology, but use vehicles and maintain a website.
Members can be seen walking around naked, and can be seen in the Altruist Camp in the Chiliad Mountain State Wilderness.
In Story Mode, Trevor is affiliated with the altruists, and can deliver random encounters to the Altruist Cult for money rewards. After four people are delivered, a special event is triggered in which Trevor is taken into the camp at gunpoint. He has to fight his way out and can find $25,000 in four different briefcases around the camp (a total of $100,000), plus an RPG.
