Shift Work

Shift Work is a Strangers & Freaks side mission in Grand Theft Auto V given by Hao, involving protagonist Franklin Clinton.

The mission becomes available after completing the Complications story mission.

Being a Franklin mission, this Strangers & Freaks mission is required for 100% completion of the game.

Shift Work - Mission Details:

Hao challenges Franklin to a street race. (Note: This mission can only be triggered in the evening)

Franklin meets Hao at the alley near the freeway. Hao invites Franklin to join him and four others in a racing competition. Franklin meets the other drivers at the race meeting point in Chamberlain Hills.

The race is a total of two laps, starting and ending at Forum Drive. Prize money is $200 for a win.

After completing the mission, more Street Races will be unlocked by a text message from Hao, and Franklin must continue to win the races in order to proceed to the next one.

There are a total of five races in the series and are only accessible between 20:00 and 05:00. The additional 4 races are:

City Circuit. A one-lap race starting and finishing on Clinton Avenue in Downtown Vinewood. The entry fee is $500 with a prize fund of $2250 for winning the race.
Airport. A two-lap race starting and finishing at the terminal of Los Santos International Airport. The entry fee is $1000 with a prize fund of $4000 for winning the race.
Freeway. A two-lap race starting and finishing on the freeway. The entry fee is $1250 with a prize fund of $5625 for winning the race.
Vespucci Canals. The two-lap race starts and finishes on Invention Court in Vespucci Beach. The entry fee is $1500 with a prize fund of $6750 for winning the race. Note: This race can only be completed on a motorcycle.

Gold Medal Objectives (100%)

The following are the Mission Objectives required to obtain the Gold Medal in the mission "Shift Work":

Fastest Lap: Complete a lap within 01:20
Underdog: Finish the race within 02:50
Clean Race: Finish the race with less than 5 collisions
- Use Franklin's ability as much as possible to complete the tasks.

Note: You can complete each Gold Medal requirement in multiple playthroughs of the mission. You don't need to obtain them all in one single playthrough.
