The main protagonist and playable character in Grand Theft Auto IV is Niko Bellic.
Major Characters
The major characters in the storyline of GTA IV. This includes Niko's friends, the main antagonists of the game, and other important mission characters.
Roman Bellic
Voice Actor: Jason Zumwalt
Roman was born in SRF Yugoslavia and moved to Liberty City in 1998. He is the cousin of Niko Bellic and encourages him to join him in Liberty City by claiming he is living the "American Dream". Roman is actually the owner of a grotty taxi firm, has a roach-infested flat and owes large amounts of debt.
Little Jacob
Voice Actor: Coolie Ranx
"Little" Jacob Hughes is the tritagonist of Grand Theft Auto IV.
Little Jacob is a Jamaican drugs and arms dealer and one of the closest allies to the Bellic cousins. He is also a high-ranked member of the Yardies.
Throughout the events of the game, Little Jacob often has missions available for Niko and often helps and aids him during tasks. Despite his job, he is a calm-natured character.
Patrick McReary
Voice Actor: Ryan Johnstone
Packie is the youngest member of the McReary family. Packie was introduced to Niko through drug dealer Elizabeta Torres and the pair quickly become friends. The pair work together on numerous robberies and various different missions.
Brucie Kibbutz
Voice Actor: Timothy Adams
Brucie is a luxury automotive entrepreneur, fitness enthusiast and lifestyle coach who befriends Niko throughout the course of the game. Niko starts working for Brucie after he is introduced to him by his cousin Roman, who aspires to have the same lifestyle as him.
Dwayne Forge
Voice Actor: Devin Richards
Dwayne was the mentor of Playboy X during his early years, and after his incarceration, Playboy took leadership of his drug dealing operation.
After Dwayne's release from prison, he starts to rebuild his life with the help of Niko, and they become good friends.
Right after his release from prison, Dwayne seems to be extremely depressed and nihilistic, but after several activities with Niko, he begins to act more positive and seems to enjoy life more.
Dimitri Rascalov
Voice Actor: Moti Margolin
Dimitri Rascalov is the antagonist of Grand Theft Auto IV. Dimitri is a Russian crime lord who uses Niko to carry out tasks for him. To begin with, their relationship is civil but Dimitri later betrays him when he affiliates himself with Ray Bulgarin and becomes a high profile figure in the Russian Mafia.
Mikhail Faustin
Voice Actor: Karel Roden
Mikhail Faustin is a russian who "exploited a loophole in the immigration treaty to gain US residency in the late 90s" and relocated to Hove Beach, where he established his organization consisting of protection rackets, cocaine distribution, pornography and stolen goods. This lifestyle earned him a mansion in Beachgate and two luxury cars. Mikhail was known for his short and volatile temper, possibly fueled by his alcohol and drug addiction. These led to his violent outbreaks and to taking drastic decisions, such as tasking Niko with killing several associates for seemingly no reason.
Elizabeta Torres
Voice Actor: Charlie Parker
Elizabeta is a powerful drug dealer, hailing from Bohan. She and Niko cross paths when he is sent out to protect Packie McReary. Elizabeta becomes increasingly paranoid throughout the game when the police begin to crackdown on her services.
Playboy X
Voice Actor: Postell Pringle
Trey was born in 1983 in North Holland, Algonquin. At around 9 years old, he became close to Dwayne Forge, who taught him to sell drugs and the rules of the "game".
After Dwayne's incarceration, Playboy X became the head of his drug dealing business and expanded it to new heights, befriending Elizabeta Torres and monitoring all the drug dealing in Liberty City.
Although Playboy calls himself an altruist, his actions and his words show that he is a materialistic hypocrite, seeking money and treating all his friends like business partners, disregarding them once they are no longer useful for him.
Francis McReary
Voice Actor: Thomas Lyons
Francis McReary is the corrupt Deputy Police Comissioner of Alongquin. Although Francis' philosophy is cleaning up the streets of Liberty City by arresting or removing criminals one by one, the tasks he gives to Niko mostly involve him killing people that can blackmail him or reveal his corrupt past.
Ray Boccino
Voice Actor: Joe Barbara
Ray is the capo of the Pegorino crime family and also a diamond dealer within Liberty City. Niko first meets him through the McReary family when they're hired to carry out various tasks for the Pegorino family.
Jimmy Pegorino
Voice Actor: Tony Patellis
James "Jimmy" Pegorino is the secondary antagonist of Grand Theft Auto IV. Jimmy is the boss of the Pegorino Crime Family. Liberty City based Mafia Organzations look down on him and will not give his family a place on the Commission, not matter what he does for them.
Kate McReary
Voice Actor: Mary Donnelly
Kate McReary is a main character in Grand Theft Auto IV and a girlfriend of Niko Bellic.
Kate is the sister of Packie, who originally tells Niko to stay away from her but later changes his mind and encourages Niko to date her. Kate works at the community center in Dukes.
Mallorie Bardas
Voice Actor: Elena Hurst
Mallorie is the girlfriend and, eventually, wife of Roman Bellic. Mallorie occasionally works as a dancer for Manny Escuela, but her main job is working for Roman at his taxi depot. After Roman's depot is destroyed, Mallorie finds Niko and Roman a place to stay in Bohan and introduces Niko to Manny Escuela and Elizabeta Torres. Although their relationship is not thoroughly described in-game, it can be seen that Mallorie cares for Roman a lot and asking Niko for help when Roman seems to be in trouble.
