In Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories, the player can access several vehicle challenges by using different, specific vehicles. This article is a guide for the Vigilante, Paramedic, Fire Fighter, Taxi Driver, Air Rescue, Beach Patrol and the Fire Copter side missions.
GTA Vice City Stories Vehicle Challenges
Vehicle Missions: Vigilante
How to start: Can be accessed while inside of a law enforcement vehicle.
Rewards: Maximum armor increased by 100%
The challenge requires the player to chase down one or more criminals and take them out using their own weapons. The criminals are always usually in vehicles, so the player must first force them to get out. Performing a PIT maneuver or flipping the criminal's vehicle will do the trick. There are 15 levels to complete, and every level is more difficult than the previous. Completing all 15 levels awards the player an increase in maximum armor capacity.
Vehicle Missions: Paramedic
How to start: Can be accessed while inside of an Ambulance.
Rewards: Infinite Sprint
The challenge requires the player to pick up hurt civilians throughout the city and deliver them back to the hospital in a short time limit. Each of the 15 levels requires the player to deliver more patients and is more difficult than the previous. Every level completed awards a sum of cash, respecting the formula

xis the current level. Completing all 15 levels unlocks Infinite Sprint for the player.
Vehicle Missions: Firefighter
How to start: Can be accessed while inside of a Fire Truck.
Rewards: Becoming Fireproof
During this challenge, the player must use the fire truck's water hose to extinguish burning vehicles throughout the city. Each of the 15 levels is more difficult than the previous, multiple burning vehicles or erratic burning pedestrians appearing in the mission. Completing the last level turns the player fireproof, allowing for difficult missions to be passed more easily.
Vehicle Missions: Taxi Driver
The player must pick up pedestrians and deliver them to their desired locations. Each fare has a time limit and a specific destination - completing 50 fares or earning $5000 from the mission unlocks the special Jump Boost ability for every taxi the player drives.
Vehicle Missions: Air Rescue
Unlocked by: From Zero to Hero
How to start: Can be accessed while inside of an Air Ambulance.
Rewards: 50% Increase in Maximum Health
The challenge is similar to the Paramedic side mission - the player must transport injured civilians to the hospital, but this time using a winch attached to the helicopter. The later of the 15 levels become trickier, as the wind begins to push the helicopter around, making handling more difficult. Completing all 15 levels will award the player with a 50% increase in their maximum health.
Vehicle Missions: Beach Patrol
Unlocked by: From Zero to Hero
How to start: Can be started by entering the red BF Injection in Washington Beach.
Rewards: Infinite stamina in water
There are three different mission types contained in this challenge, each with 15 levels, and they appear at random:
- Save the Swimmers: There are swimmers in the sea that need rescue. The player takes a Coastguard and has to get near the drowning swimmers, allowing an NPC to throw them a buoy and save them. This is the only time that the Coastguard is seen in-game.
- Biker Gang: Members of a biker gang are causing havoc throughout the beach, and the player must take them out, either by killing them or dismounting them from their bikes. Wanted levels can be attained during this mission, so the player must wary and not kill innocent pedestrians.
- Paramedic: The paramedics from an ambulance need help in navigating the vehicle through the busy beach. Take the paramedics to the injured civilian and allow them to save them.
Vehicle Missions: Fire Copter
How to start: Can be started by entering the parked Armadillo at the Downtown Fire Station.
Rewards: $500
The player must use the helicopter's water bucket in order to extinguish fires throughout the city. If the helicopter runs out of water, the player may fill it back up by lowering it into a body of water, like the ocean. Completing all 5 levels of this mission awards the player with $500 and progress towards 100% completion of the game.
