In Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars, the player can access several vehicle challenges by using different, specific vehicles. This article is a guide for the Firefighter, Noodle Run, Excess Delivery, Vigilante, Paramedic, Firefighter and the Taxi Driver side missions.
How to start: Can be accessed while inside of a Fire Truck.
Rewards: The player becomes Fireproof
During this challenge, the player must use the fire truck's water hose to extinguish burning vehicles throughout the city. Dealing with 10 emergencies (and therefore earning the Flame Retard achievement turns the player fireproof, allowing for difficult missions to be passed more easily.
Vehicle Missions: Noodle Run
How to start: Can be accessed by entering one of the two Dragon Wagons found in the city
Rewards: Health increased by 25 points. $2000.
The two cans can be found in these locations:
Between Wu Lee's restaurant and the gas station, Cerveza Heights
Southeast of Hsin Jaoming's penthouse, southwest of the Chinatown Safehouse
The mission tasks the player with delivering noodles to customers under a time limit. After the first levels, hostiles from the rival Noodle Exchange will begin to attack the player, driving maroon Bobcats.
Completing 8 deliveries awards the player the Bronze Medal. 10 awards the Silver Medal, while 12 deliveries completed will award the player, alongside the Golden Medal, the "Regeneration" buff, providing permanent HP regeneration while under 25% health.
Vehicle Missions: Paramedic
How to start: Can be accessed while inside of an Ambulance.
Rewards: Infinite Sprint
The challenge requires the player to pick up hurt civilians throughout the city and deliver them back to the hospital in a short time limit. A mission consist of 5 waves, each with two to four patients to be collected. Completing one mission (5 waves) is required for 100% completion, but achieving a Gold Medal (5 missions, 25 waves) awards the player with Infinite Sprint capabilities.
Unique from the other 3D games, in Chinatown Wars, bumping the Ambulance too much will cause the patients to have heart attacks, prompting the players to a minigame in order to reanimate them.
Vehicle Missions: Taxi Driver
How to start: Can be accessed while inside of a Cabbie
Rewards: Taxis become bulletproof
The player must pick up pedestrians and deliver them to their desired locations. Each fare has a time limit and a specific destination - 5 fares are required for 100% completion of the game, but completing 15 will award the player a Gold Medal and turn all taxis bulletproof.
Completing 5 fares in a row rewards the player with extra tip.
Vehicle Missions: Vigilante
How to start: Can be accessed while inside of a Law Enforcement Vehicle.
Rewards: 100% increase in armor capacity.
The Police Computer allows the player to see crimes in progress in the current area. They have a time limit to get to the crime scene, and then unlimited time to take out the criminals. There are 3 types of crimes:
Gang activity - the player must take down a gang of thugs
Stolen vehicle - the player must chase down a criminal in a stolen car
Suspect on Foot - the player must take down a criminal fleeing from a crime scene.
Completing 5 crimes without failure awards the player a Golden Medal and increases their armor capacity by 100%.
Vehicle Missions: Excess Delivery
How to start: Can be accessed by entering one of the two delivery vans parked in Liberty City
Rewards: Double capacity for the Duffel Bag
In this mission, the player must collect designated packages before rivals in gang-based Burritos do, then deliver the package to a designated client. There are 5 waves of packages to deliver.
A different medal is awarded to the player depending on how many packages they deliver per wave. Managing to deliver 5 packages awards the player the Golden Medal and "Big Pants" - double capacity to the Duffel Bag used in Drug Dealing.
