In Grand Theft Auto: Advance, the Promoter will invite the player to take part in street races throughout Liberty City for cash rewards.
The races are unlocked after the mission Hot Wheels and involve the player driving a specific vehicle through a set of checkpoints in a time limit, races becoming progressively more difficult as the player completes them. There are a total of 18 races to complete in Grand Theft Auto: Advance, 6 on each island, Portland, Staunton Island and Shoreside Vale. In some races, checkpoints will spawn in a random location each time the race is played, while in others, the player will face competition that will chase and try to ram them off of the road.
Each race completed will award the player a higher amount of money, the total score for this set of missions being a whopping $213,000 for completing all races, making it a very profitable side mission. The street races are not required for 100% completion of the game.
Once the player completes the Portland and the Staunton races, another side mission, Demolition Football is unlocked.
