Fear of the Dark (Halloween Mode) is a Showdown Mode in Red Dead Online. It has been added to the game with the 1.13 October 2019 update on October 29, 2019.
This is a Team PVP mode that can be played by 2 teams of 8 to 8 players. You have an unlimited amount of lives.
Fear of the Dark is a terrifying limited-time addition to Red Dead Online Showdown Modes, only available from October 29, 2019 to November 12, 2019.
Fear of the Dark is a 8-players mode, pitting two supernaturally fast, tough and strong Night Stalkers, against six mere mortal Hunter counterparts (2 vs. 6).
The Night Stalkers' powers are tied to the skull masks strewn about their stomping grounds. The more masks the Hunters get their hands on, the weaker the Night Stalkers become, while the Hunters' own weapons grow stronger.
The Hunters can only succeed in this new mode by collecting all of the masks and then eliminating all remaining Night Stalkers. The Night Stalkers can win by either wiping out the Hunters or surviving until the time limit expires.
In the battle between the Hunters and the Night Stalkers, the Hunters must steal the masks that give supernatural powers to the Night Stalkers. The more they steal, the weaker the Night Stalkers become, while the Hunters' own weapons grow stronger.
