The Black Box File

The Black Box File is a Robbery Contract in GTA Online, given by Jodi Marshall and associated to the Darnell Bros Garment Factory property.

This job has been added to the game as part of the 1.70 Agents of Sabotage update on December 10, 2024, and is available on PS4, Xbox One, PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

This is a Solo or Co-Op mode that can be played by 1 to 4 players.

Got a dark aircraft suspected of smuggling outta state. I'd bet money on IAA involvement. If we can get the black box as proof, that's valuable collateral.

This job, like the other FIB Files, consists of four Free Mode missions, including three preparation missions and one finale.

The Black Box File: Missions List

Preparation: Hacking Device

I've been working out the plane's route, and it looks like the IAA has it cleared for a landing at LSIA. Now, if we were playing dirty like the IAA, we'd drop the plane in a rough part of town, call it a pilot error, and funnel opioid revenue to settle any lawsuits out of court. But we work clean, which means we work harder. There's a FIB endorsed cybersecurity firm, with a device we can use to reroute the plane. You should already have the location, head there.

Target: Planting a hacking device.

Location: Los Santos International Airport

Players: 1-4 players

The FIB works with a cybersecurity team, and the player must raid their base in La Puerta to steal a device that will allow rerouting the target plane. The player must then go to LSIA and plant the device on a control tower.

Preparation: Sonar Equipment

We'll need to recover the black box after bringing down the plane. That's not easy in the Alamo Sea.

Target: Obtaining sonar equipment.

Location: Terminal, Los Santos

Players: 1-4 players

The player must find a Tugboat which contains sonar equipment and steal the sonar equipment from the boat’s storage box

Preparation: Weaponized Aircraft

It sounds like Merryweather got a new Tula in their arsenal. If we want to force the plane into the Alamo Sea, a Tula will help keep it clean. Well, as clean as the Alamo Sea gets. Sending you coordinates.

Target: Stealing the Tula.

Location: Merryweather Barge, Pacific Ocean

Players: 1-4 players

The player attacks a Merryweather Barge located in the ocean and raids it, stealing the Tula and taking out the attacking Merryweather helicopters. Afterward, they stash the plane at a secure location to use in the raid.

Okay, vehicle's in position, the pass and key are packed, and you got a full set of armor with your name on it. Eyes on Zancudo. This is it.

Target: Black Box

Location: Alamo Sea

Players: 1-4 players

Challenge 1: Destroy all 4 Plane Engines

Challenge 2: Recover All Plane Contents

Challenge 3: Kill 5 Enemies During the Escape

The first step is to go to the Los Santos International Airport and hack the control tower, rerouting the incoming plane. The player then takes the Tula and goes near the plane, hacking it and forcing it to crash into the Alamo Sea. Once the player defends from the Military jets and takes out the airplane’s engines, they must go to the crash site and look for the plane’s black box. The player then escapes in a Dinghy and delivers the black box to the buyer.
