The Project Breakaway File

The Project Breakaway File is a Robbery Contract in GTA Online, given by Jodi Marshall and associated to the Darnell Bros Garment Factory property.

This job has been added to the game as part of the 1.70 Agents of Sabotage update on December 10, 2024, and is available on PS4, Xbox One, PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

This is a Solo or Co-Op mode that can be played by 1 to 4 players.

Maze Bank's secret project, and an opportunity for us to capitalize on their greed.

This job, like the other FIB Files, consists of four Free Mode missions, including three preparation missions and one finale.

The Project Breakaway File: Missions List

Preparation: Mobile Tracking

Alright, our whistleblower has never actually been to Project Breakaway's location, so he can't tell us where the servers are. If I sound annoyed about this, it's because I am. But Pavel assured me we can find the location by tracking the deliveries Maze Bank sends there with a... let's call it a "specialized mobile tracking platform". Sending you its location.

Target: Finding the location of Project Breakaway

Location: Rockford Hills, Los Santos

Players: 1-4 players

Jodi’s whistleblower does not know the location of Project Breakaway, so they must track it through Maze Bank’s deliveries. The player goes to Rockford Hills and uses an RC Bandito to track a delivery van to stash the RC car into.

Preparation: Thermal Charges

I got more intel on Maze Bank's security. Sounds like they went low-tech in parts. Irritating. I can't hack a lock.

Target: Stealing Thermal Charges

Location: Post OP Depot, Terminal, Los Santos

Players: 1-4 players

Maze Bank’s security systems are low-tech, so Pavel recommends stealing thermal charges to use for breaking locks. The player sneaks into a Post OP depot to find where the thermal charges delivery went to, and finds that they are at a warehouse. They must then break into the SecuroServ warehouse and secure the thermal charges, delivering them back to the Garment Factory.

Preparation: Encryption Bypass

Alright. Here's what we know... if we can hit that server, we'll have access to the money and the data on this Eberhard Munitions group. What we don't know is how to break their encryption. I have an old colleague... FIB tech... he works on exactly the kind of malware we need to hack their system, funnel their funds, and purge our footprint. Sending you his location.

Target: Obtaining the data encryption bypass

Location: Downtown Vinewood, Los Santos

Players: 1-4 players

The player goes to one of Jodi’s contacts’ homes to find a hard drive containing malware to bypass the target’s encryption. The hard drive is found in the basement of the house, and the player must then take out Jodi’s contact before returning the hard drive to the Garment Factory.

Location: Project Breakaway, Los Santos

Challenge 1: Locate Project Breakaway in 5 Minutes

Challenge 2: Get 15 Headshots

Challenge 3: Recover Black Books and Server Blades

The player locates Project Breakway’s location using the Trackify app. They must take out the waves of security and enter the facility. After clearing the security guards inside, the panic alarm begins to release nerve gas into the server room, so the player must shut off the gas outlet using the remotely-controlled RC Bandito, by detonating it.

The player uploads the malware to the computers in the server room, before stealing the hard drives from several locked rooms. The player escapes Project Breakaway, escapes the waves of security and delivers the hard drives to the buyer.
