The design of the Service Carbine is based on a real life M16 A1 and M16 A2 military rifles. The in-game version of the weapon is manufactured by Vom Feuer.

The Service Carbine can be purchased in GTA Online from Ammu-Nation for a price of $370,000.
Alternatively, you can also unlock the Service Carbine by collecting the 5 components (barrel, mag, receiver, sights, and scope) that spawn randomly around the map, which can be found at 10 possible "Crime Scene" locations.
Collect the hidden weapon components to earn cash and RP. Find them all to assemble and equip the Service Carbine.
Once the Service Carbine is assembled, upgrades for this rifle can be purchased at Ammu-Nation.
