It's that time of the year again, summer is in full force and a brand new GTA Online update is right around the corner... Following Rockstar Games' first announcement regarding this forthcoming DLC, we've received even more information regarding exactly what this update will include!
@alloc8or shared a series of incredibly interesting details about the summer update over on GTA Forums - we'll break them down and combine them with what Rockstar has already confirmed to get the best possible picture of all the new content so far...
Summer DLC: New Release Date
Whilst Rockstar Games had not officially confirmed a release date, most believed July 19th was to be the release date for the upcoming DLC - the GTA Online event was scheduled to end on this date (a Tuesday), which usually indicates when an update is on its way.
However, today Rockstar extended the current event until Tuesday 26th July, as noted by @TezFun2:
Update:
- Current #GTAOnline event extended till Tuesday, July 26th.
- 2x GTA$ & RP on Payphone Hits added on top of current bonuses.

Rockstar's newswire also spoke of the update being just a 'few short weeks' away - the new expected release date (Tuesday 26th July) therefore also fits this wording better and looks far more likely.
New Weapons
As with most GTA Online updates, there are new weapons on the way. According to @alloc8or, we can expect 2 new rifles - one named the 'tactical rifle', the other is cryptically codenamed as "PRCSRIFLE", any thoughts?

New Vehicles and Vehicle Slots
As always, several new vehicles are to be expected with this upcoming DLC! Rockstar has already highlighted one of these in their newswire (pictured below), the rest will be revealed in due time and we will showcase them on our official update page and in our vehicles database!
@alloc8or also mentions that we can look forward to 26 new vehicle slots - Rockstar certainly appears to be listening to player feedback, however just how these slots will be incorporated is yet to be known, whether with a new property (relatively unlikely) or simply expanding garage space.
New Activities
Once again, @alloc8or has provided us with some juicy new details regarding activities being added with this DLC. New skydiving activities are coming soon and will be connected to a "skydiving collectible".
We're also incredibly likely to see the Cayo Perico collectibles previously teased by @TezFun2 added alongside this update.
Rockstar has already officially confirmed they will expand upon the Criminal Careers of Executive, Biker, Gunrunner, and Nightclub Owner in this DLC, with new Contract Missions that allow players to work as an IAA field operative also on the way!
Gameplay Updates
We've already gone over the new community-requested game changes over on our update summary - but as a reminder, players can look forward to vehicle nerfs (yes that includes the Oppressor MkII), being able to launch sell missions in invite-only sessions, and much more!
The GTA Online Summer DLC is nearly there
