GTA 5 & GTA Online Weapons Database: All Stats & Prices
This is the complete GTA Online & GTA 5 Weapons List & Database, which includes all Guns, Rifles, Explosives and every weapon available in the game. This full GTA 5 weapons list is always up-to-date with the latest DLC across all platforms (PS5, PS4, Xbox and PC).
You can filter weapons by Type / Class, Title Update, Game Edition, Acquisition Method and more, as well as sort them by Release Date, Price, Statistics and Rank required to unlock them in GTA Online.
This allows you to see what are the best weapons in GTA 5 Online by any of the stats, such as Damage, Fire Rate, Accuracy, Range and Overall Rating. Plus, clicking on each weapon brings you to their detailed stats, along with pictures, how to get each weapon, locations where to find them, their real-life counterparts, customizations, and more.
How Many Weapons Can You Carry in GTA 5?
Unlike previous games in the Grand Theft Auto Series, where you could only carry a single weapon of each type / class, in GTA 5 and GTA Online you can bring with you an unlimited amount of weapons at the same time.
You can choose which weapon to use via the Weapon Wheel, which allows you to quickly cycle through all the weapon classes with R and then select your desired firearm (or melee weapon) in that slot.
The 8 weapons classes in the GTA V's weapon wheel are as follows, listed clockwise from the top: Handguns, Machine Guns, Assault Rifles, Sniper Rifles, Melee, Shotguns, Heavy Weapons, and Throwables.
The firearms in the game can also be customized at Ammu-Nation with various attachments, performance upgrades, liveries and tints.
GTA 5 Weapons Differences between Story Mode & GTA Online
In this GTA 5 Weapons Database you can find the complete list of weapons featured in both Story Mode and GTA Online, across the entire history of the game for all platforms (PC, PS5, PS4, PS3, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One & Xbox 360).
These include the latest new weapons added in GTA Online with the newest updates, and all the overall best weapons updated to December 2024.
However, not all weapons are available in every edition of the game: the Single Player mode of GTA 5 stopped receiving new weapons after the "Lowriders" update on Octoer 20, 2015. All the GTA 5 weapons released in subsequent updates have been exclusive to GTA Online, and only PS4/XB1/PC.
You can use the 'Game Edition' and 'Platforms' filters to narrow down the Weapons Database to only show weapons appearing in the GTA 5 Story Mode, GTA Online, or on certain platforms.
How To Get Weapons in GTA 5 (Story Mode)
There are several ways to obtain weapons in GTA 5's Story Mode:
- Purchasing Weapons: the main way to get weapons in GTA 5 is to purchase them from Ammu-Nation, the game's go-to gun shop. Ammu-Nation can be found in several locations throughout Los Santos, and they sell a wide range of weapons, including pistols, shotguns, rifles, and more. However, many weapons become available for purchase after advancing through the story and completing specific missions.
- Finding Weapons: another way to get weapons in GTA 5 is to find them in the game world. Weapons can be found scattered throughout Los Santos, often in hidden or hard-to-reach locations. You can click on each weapon in our database to see all the locations where you can find them on the map.
- Mission Rewards: finally, weapons can also be obtained by playing missions and side missions in GTA 5, either as a reward for completing the mission or as a drop from enemies that are defeated during the mission.
How To Buy Weapons in GTA Online
Similar to single-player, GTA Online weapons can be purchased from the various Ammu-Nation stores, and some entry-level weapons can be found across the map. Also, some special weapons are obtained as Bonus Reward for completing certain endeavors.
In addition, GTA Online features the following extra methods to acquire weapons:
- Gun Van: a mobile weapon shop that spawns in a different location every day, which allows you to purchase selected weapons at a discounted rate, or even exclusive weapons.
- Weapon Workshop: an optional add-on to your MOC, Avenger, Terrorbyte or Kosatka properties. The Weapon Workshop allows you to upgrade 12 selected weapons to Mk II variants, which offer more customizations and special ammo types.
- Agency Armory: an optional add-on to your Agency property. This allows you to purchase discounted weapons, upgrade selected weapons to Mk II variants, and acquire other equipment such as Body Armor and Parachutes.
The Ammu-Nation, Weapon Workshop, and Agency Armory can also be used to customize and upgrade all of your weapons with various attachments, liveries, tints, replenish ammo, and more.
How To Customize Loadout in GTA 5 Online
Once you've purchased a weapon in GTA 5 & GTA Online, it's not possible to sell them, so unlike with vehicles, there is no way to make some of your money back if you want to get rid of a weapon.
However, in GTA Online, if you purchase a Gun Locker add-on for one of your properties, you can customize your Loadout by setting which weapons should show up or be hidden on your Weapon Wheel.
