Rockstar Games has released an update based on a fan-made fix that speeds up GTA Online loading times on PC by up to 70%.
A programmer that goes by the name t0st looked into the GTA Online loading times and noticed some people were waiting up to six minutes for their GTA Online to load. They wrote a detailed report here.
Speaking to PC Gamer, Rockstar Games said:
“After a thorough investigation, we can confirm that player t0st did, in fact, reveal an aspect of the game code related to load times for the PC version of GTA Online that could be improved. As a result of these investigations, we have made some changes that will be implemented in a forthcoming title update.”
Rockstar also rewarded t0st with $10,000 for their efforts, as t0st announced through their blog.
