Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is an open-world game. There are so many things in the game that are inspired by our real world, such as names of places, designs of buildings, car or motorbike designs, or stories and events in the game. There are also smaller details that are considered secrets in San Andreas, often referred to as 'Easter Eggs'.
These are the most popular Easter Eggs in GTA San Andreas.
1. No Easter Eggs Here Sign at The Gant Bridge
You will need to have San Fierro unlocked before being able to see this Easter Egg. Go to the large red bridge connecting San Fierro to Las Venturas which is called The Gant Bridge. Either with a Jetpack or helicopter, get to the top of the bridge and and hover near the highest horizontal bar. Look on the inside of the East pillar to see a sign that says, 'There are no Easter Eggs up here. Go away.'
In a similar vein, GTA Vice City has an actual Easter Egg hidden in an invisible wall. Also, there was a similar sign in GTA III that read, 'You weren't supposed to be able to get here'.
2. A Mysterious Bobcat and Bodybags in The Desert
In order to find this location, you will need to start out at the airplane graveyard in Verdant Meadows, The Desert. Head south from the savepoint, until you get to a road. Follow this road west, until you see The Snake Farm. Go a little past this, then make a left off the road, and drive through the field between two large rocks. If you look on your left once you go through between the two rocks, you should see a Bobcat beside a small hole in the ground.
Go up to the hole, and you will see several body bags in the ground. The Bobcat parked there must have been used to place them in there! But where is the driver?
3. Resize The Moon by Shooting It with The Sniper Rifle
Just like in the other Grand Theft Auto games, shooting the moon with the Sniper Rifle will make it get larger and larger, until it starts over at a smaller size again. This was actually recently confirmed to be a feature implemented to help the art team decide whether a larger or smaller moon looked better in the game, which they forgot to remove!
4. A Large Rock Called Northstar Rock
This large rock, cleverly called 'Northstar Rock' is a not-so-subtle Easter Egg which can be found on the east side of Los Santos. Switch around the syllables of this location and you get Rockstar North, the creators of the game.
5. Rockstar Constellation in The Night Sky
Look in the night sky to see the Rockstar Constellation. This Easter Egg can also be found in GTA Vice City.
6. Unique Vanity Plates
If you pay close attention, you will see some cars have their own vanity plates. Here are some unique vanity plates:
- Sweet's Greenwood: 'GROVE4L'
- Ryder's Picador: 'SHERM'
- Cesar's Savanna: 'LUVA4L'
- Big Smoke's Car: 'A2TMFK'
- Forelli's Car in the mission "Saint Mark's Bistro": '4GEDIT'
- Katie's Car: 'TRAUMA'
- Barbara's Car: 'CUFFS'
- Hotknife at Driving School: 'GOLD'
7. The Gant Bridge's "Bridge Facts"
Returning to the Golden Gate Bridge clone from earlier in the article, there is a small sign by the bridge which states some fun facts about its ingame model:
'BRIDGE FACTS
length - 159.7m
height - 60.3m above sea level
34815 polygons inc. LODs
3 babies born during construction
40 textures
Takes up a staggering 38.9mb of disc space.'
8. "Police Brutality" at The LSPD's Parking Lot
Go the police station in Los Santos. (It helps to head into the parking lot with a police car to avoid a wanted level) Once inside, you will see a pedestrian being beaten by a policeman, with another policeman watching in the corner.
9. Vinewood Cemetery's Ghost Graffiti
Head to the graveyard in Vinewood, Los Santos. If you look at the walls between 20:00 and 6:00, you will see some graffiti. However, during the daytime the graffiti mysteriously disappears! One graffiti tag says "Families 4 Life".
