Dating Girlfriends is an activity in GTA San Andreas. This is an optional endeavor, not required for 100% completion of the game.
There are six possible girlfriends that CJ can date. Each one offers unique rewards upon achieving a specific fondness level. Two girlfriends, Denise Robinson and Millie Perkins, are introduced during the storyline.
Upon successfully striking up a love interest with a potential girlfriend, their location will appear on your map with a heart icon. It’s important to note that if they die on the date or break up with you, they will only reappear after collecting all 50 oysters.
Each character has different preferences on appearance and activities, so it’s vital to reference this guide to ensure you don’t fall flat on your face when you try to impress one of them!
Denise Robinson
Availability: 16:00 to 6:00
Denise Robinson is an introduction to the dating mechanic. She becomes your girlfriend upon completing the Burning Desire mission. Her place is around the block from Grove Street, where you can pick her up to take her out on a date.
Preferences
- Dinner Date: Ten Green Bottles Bar, fast-food restaurants
- Dancing: Alhambra, on the outskirts of Idlewood
- Driving: Prefers to be driven around Grove Street. Though she doesn’t have a specific preference on speed like other girlfriends, the ‘fun’ meter will fill faster if you drive into enemy territory so she can do a drive-by on rival gang members.
Rewards
- 50% Approval: Unlocks the usage of her car (dark green Hustler) outside of her place.
- 100% Approval: The Pimp Suit is delivered to your wardrobe.
Katie Zhan
Availability: 12:00 to 00:00
Katie Zahn is an ER nurse who can be found inside the Avispa Country Club in San Fierro. You must pack some muscle to impress her, so hit the gym before approaching her. After landing a date, you can find her place in Juniper Hollow by the Gant Bridge.
Preferences
- Dinner: She prefers diners such as the Paradiso Diner nearby. Taking her to a fast-food restaurant will result in a failed date.
- Dancing: The nearest club is Gaydar Station in Queens, San Fierro
- Driving: Her ‘fun’ meter fills quickly by driving at a moderate speed around Jizzy’s club, the Pleasure Domes.
Rewards
Perks that come with dating Katie are the ability to keep all your weapons when you die, along with not having to pay when being discharged from the hospital.

Michelle Cannes
Availability: 00:00 to 12:00
Michelle Cannes is a mechanic with a garage in Downtown San Fierro. You can find her at the driving school in Doherty, though she’ll only speak to you if you have a fat level of over 50%. Drive to her garage, which is now marked by a heart icon, to take her out.
Preferences
- Dinner: Misty’s Bar in Garcia, San Fierro. Gaydar Station in Queens, San Fierro. Taking her to a fast-food joint, restaurant, or diner will result in a failed date.
- Dancing: Gaydar Station in Queens
- Driving: Prefers to be driven around the area at breakneck speed. Drive too slow or crash into too many objects, and your date will fail.
- Special Date: Michelle will take the wheel and drive around town for 2-3 in-game hours.

- 40% Approval: Free Pay n’ Spray visits at her garage
- 50% Approval: Unlocks her Monster Truck
- 100% Approval: The Racing Suit is delivered to your safehouse wardrobe
Barbara Schternvart
Availability: 16:00 to 06:00
Barbara is a sheriff’s deputy in the Tierra Robada area. She is only accessible upon completing the mission Yay Ka-Boom-Boom. Cross the Garver Bridge and head to the El Quebrados police station, where she can be found with a blue arrow over her head. She prefers you to be overweight, so stuff your face full of food before approaching her.
Preferences
- Dinner Date: Diners (Jay’s Diner is near the station). Any fast-food locations, restaurants, or bar joints will result in failure
- Dancing: The closest club is near The Camel’s Toe in Las Venturas, though it is a healthy distance away. It’s recommended to have a fast car handy, as taking too long to get there or to bring her back home will make you fail the date.
- Driving: Enjoys driving with the speed of traffic around the block
Rewards
Dating Barbara will allow the player to keep their weapons and armor after being arrested

- 100% Approval: The Police Uniform will be delivered to your wardrobe
Millie Perkins
Availability: 12:00 to 22:00
Millie Perkins is only accessible upon completing the Key to Her Heart, an optional mission in the Casino Heist strand. She has certain preferences, but will immediately invite you inside for “coffee” if you show up to her place in the Gimp Suit, a piece of clothing that is unlocked after The Key to Her Heart.

- Dinner Date: Restaurants and Bars near the Venturas Strip. She hates going to fast-food places and diners.
- Dancing: There is a club east of the Camel’s Toe
- Driving: Prefers to be driven at a modest speed around her place.
- Special: Wearing the Gimp Suit immediately skips to a “coffee date”.
Rewards
- 50% Approval: The player is granted access to her pink Club vehicle
Helena Wankstein
Availability: 08:00 to 12:00
Helena Wankstein becomes available to date after completing Green Sabre. She’s located on the rooftop of Ammu-Nation in Blueberry and prefers CJ to have a slender physique with a high sex appeal rating. You should collect all 50 oysters before trying to score a date. Doing so will pique her interest immediately.
Preferences
- Dinner Date: She prefers to be taken to restaurants like the World of Coq, the only one in the Los Santos area. She hates going to fast-food joints, diners, and bars.
- Dancing: Alhambra in Idlewood, Los Santos
- Driving: Enjoys a leisure drive in rural areas or around her farm.
Rewards
While dating Helena, you get exclusive access to her tool shed, which has a flamethrower, molotovs, and a pistol inside.
- 50% Approval: Carl is given the keys to her Bandito
- 100% Approval: Rural clothes are delivered to your safehouse wardrobe, and you gain access to the Sadler, her second vehicle.
The dating mechanic isn’t required to reach the 100% completion stat of the game, though you are robbing yourself of experiencing everything San Andreas has to offer. There are also a couple of perks to utilizing this feature, as they will come in handy at the end of the game!
