Rockstar Games has officially confirmed that pre-orders for Grand Theft Auto VI will begin on June 25, 2026, marking one of the final major milestones before the game's release later this year on November 19, 2026.

Unlike Rockstar's previous releases like GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2, Grand Theft Auto VI does not come with multiple special editions, but only one massive Ultimate Edition apart from the standard version.

When Will GTA 6 Release?

The official release date of Grand Theft Auto VI has now been confirmed by Rockstar Games to be November 19, 2026.

Initially, it was assumed that the GTA 6 release date would be sometime around 2023. With the release of the first trailer for GTA VI, Rockstar Games initially revealed that GTA 6 would come out in Fall 2025, before being pushed to May 26, 2026 earlier this year.

However, the game has been delayed once again, with the official release date now being set to November 19, 2026. The game will include a modern Vice City and Florida setting as the GTA 6 Map & Location.

GTA 6 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S

GTA 6 will be released for the next generation of consoles, Sony's PlayStation 5 and Microsoft's Xbox Series X/S. There's a good chance we will see a version of the game for Windows PC too.

Will GTA 6 be on PS4 & Xbox One?

Unfortunately for people who won't get a next-gen console, Rockstar Games will not be launching GTA6 on PS4 and Xbox One. The next GTA game will be next-gen hardware exclusive.

Will there be a GTA 6 PC Release?

What about the GTA 6 PC version, then?

Well, with GTA 4, GTA 5, and even Red Dead Redemption 2, there weren’t simultaneous launches for the PC along with the consoles. But they did come after a certain time.

While the delays surely frustrated a lot of PC users, it was worth the wait as the developers had more time to optimize the games for the PC platform and polish everything even further.

So, while we might expect a GTA 6 PS5 exclusive launch at first, along with Xbox Series X/S - also a PC version is sure to follow. Rockstar is smart enough to know not to keep this kind of a title limited to consoles only.

Will GTA 6 be Cross Platform?

For all of you wondering if the Online aspect of GTA 6 will be cross-platform, this information is still unknown at the moment.

There is definitely a possibility that the new version of GTA Online will allow for cross-platform play between PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, as it's become a common trend in modern video games.

It would be awesome to see players from all platforms united under one roof, as long as Rockstar can keep the game under control from GTA 6 mods on PC.
