Massimo Torini is a high-ranking member of the Sicilian Mafia, and is sent by his superiors to make a truce between the Leones, the Forellis and the Sindaccos.

This task is actually a disguise, when in reality the Sicilians aim to manipulate the families into destroying each other. 

After his death, caused by Toni Cipriani and the Leone Family, the Leones and the Sicilians make a truce on Salvatore's terms, with the Sicilian Don conceding defeat and returning to Sicily.
