Rockstar Games’ GTA 6 has generated excitement and hype like no other game in 2026, and the team isn’t showing any signs of stopping just yet.
Following two major trailers, the GTA 6 Extended Look showcased Rockstar Games’ work to millions of viewers and led to a massive surge in pre-orders via the world’s most popular streaming platform. If this wasn’t creative enough, the game’s next marketing beat could transform all of Miami into Vice City.
Miami Wants To Promote GTA 6

As reported by The Miamian, Miami District 2 Commissioner Damian Pardo is on board the GTA 6 hype train and is more than open to the idea of further helping market the game to the masses.
Pardo is said to be sponsoring an ordinance on the city commission agenda tomorrow, which would allow Rockstar Games and Take-Two to temporarily place various banners across Miami in an attempt to promote the upcoming blockbuster.
These signage waivers would grant Rockstar Games and Take-Two the right to place a total of six banners across Miami for up to 56 days, with the promotion taking place between October 15th and December 31st.
Note that such signage waivers are typically utilized to promote major events, such as the FIFA World Cup 2026, indicating that Miami considers GTA 6 to be at least on par with an event of this magnitude.
If approved by the downtown Miami homeowner, this deal would see Rockstar Games paying $202,000 per banner. In total, this would result in $1.2 million being handed over to Miami, which would then be used to further the development of the Edward T. Graham Heritage Trail project.
According to Commissioner Pardo, GTA 6’s association with Miami itself presents a huge opportunity to market both the game and the real-life location. He hopes that the game’s global influence will help the government promote Miami’s rich culture.
Not Everyone Agrees To The Promotion

The interesting part here is that certain Miami officials are already opposed to the idea of the city collaborating with GTA 6.
For instance, Miami-Dade Sheriff Rosie Cordero-Stutz pointed out that Grand Theft Auto’s violent nature goes against the Sheriff’s Office and its principles. The Sheriff, therefore, advised against collaborating with Rockstar Games and Take-Two.
Similarly, Miami-Dade County Commissioner Juan Carlos Bermudez spoke out against the idea of transforming the County into Vice City as part of GTA 6’s promotional campaign. As such, there’s no guarantee that Miami will promote GTA 6 as Commissioner Pardo wants.
Should the deal be approved, however, real-life advertisements would serve as the icing on the cake for an already-impressive marketing campaign from Rockstar Games and Take-Two. CEO Strauss Zelnick did promise to go all out for the AAA blockbuster’s marketing, and what better way to do this than to collaborate with the very location Vice City is based on.
In the past, GTA 5's marketing campaign also saw the team using massive banners placed across various buildings to promote the game. Therefore, it would only be fitting for its successor to do the same.
