GTA 5’s narrative was always considered a strong suit of the game, but over the years, Rockstar Games expanded the game’s narrative with new characters and stories.
All of this happened, of course, through GTA Online, the game’s ever-growing live-service component that showcased how many of GTA 5’s characters were faring after the events of the main story.
GTA Online also featured original characters that did not show up in the GTA 5 story, and one such character is now confirmed to be returning in GTA 6.
Valentina Is Coming Back For GTA 6
The character of Valentina made her first and only appearance in GTA Online in 2025 as part of the Money Fronts update. Introduced as Mr. Faber’s client, Valentina’s appearance in GTA Online was quite brief, during which the character noted that she had arrived in San Andreas for just 24 hours to see some kind of property.
Clearly, the character’s role in GTA Online was quite small, so many were surprised to see her return in GTA 6. During the Netflix Extended Look of the title, Valentina was seen working as a client for Andres De Leon, where she hires both Jason and Lucia as security for Megamundo’s headquarters opening in the United States.
Valentina is seen sporting a new look in GTA 6, but we don’t see much of her in the Netflix Extended Look. She briefly introduces Jason and Lucia to Megamundo’s COO Petra Navarro before chaos erupts and disrupts the party.
Which Other Characters Could Come Back?
Although no other character from past Grand Theft Auto games is currently confirmed to be returning in GTA 6, there is speculation that warrants a discussion.
An interesting part of Lucia’s backstory is that she belongs to Liberty City. This immediately means that characters from a game like GTA 4 are plausible candidates for a GTA 6 appearance.
Although Niko Bellic himself may not show up in the game due to his preference for a quieter lifestyle, many fans have speculated that Luis Lopez from GTA 4’s The Ballad of Gay Tony DLC could show up in GTA 6 one way or another.
This is because Rockstar Games seems to have added nods to the character in the GTA 6 Netflix Extended Look through Jason’s outfit and Lucia’s car during the Megamundo segments. The big focus on nightclubs and music in the game would give Rockstar Games the perfect opportunity to at least reference Luis Lopez in the game.
Elsewhere, other characters like Yusuf Amir and Tony Prince from the same DLC have a chance of showing up in GTA 6. For reference, Tony Prince already showed up in GTA Online in 2018 and assisted players with the Nightclub business in Los Santos. The character was also involved with Mr. Faber, so Valentina’s appearance could further establish a connection between Tony Prince and GTA 6.
On the other hand, many have discussed the possibility of Jimmy De Santa returning for a small cameo due to GTA Online’s cut content suggesting that he had moved out of state. His moving to Leonida would give Rockstar Games the perfect excuse to cater to GTA 5 fans.
Similarly, Lester is expected to show up in the game as an associate of some kind, particularly due to his role in GTA Online. Many also hope to see Franklin and Lamar from GTA 5 show up, especially since Rockstar Games could highlight LD Organics expanding to Leonida as a potential nod to the character’s progression in GTA Online.
Of course, there’s a lot more speculation regarding other characters, such as the homeless man from GTA 4 who obtained diamonds and later moved to Vice City. It remains to be seen, then, which characters will be part of GTA 6.
