The developer behind the legendary Grand Theft Auto series, Rockstar Games, has recently announced a special End of Summer Giveaway for GTA Online.
Players can now claim up to GTA$2,000,000 in in-game currency just by logging in. Alongside this, Rockstar is being particularly generous, offering a wide variety of bonuses, hefty discounts, 2x rewards on select missions, and plenty of other content to keep the community engaged.
With GTA 6 still far from release, Rockstar continues to focus heavily on GTA Online. Despite being over a decade old, the online mode's fanbase shows no signs of slowing down, making it easy to see why the company keeps investing in new content. Regular updates, events, and seasonal offers ensure that players have a reason to return, and this latest giveaway is another way to keep the community excited.
As summer winds down, Rockstar is giving away free in-game money. Many fans are speculating that this could be connected to the long-rumoured Mansions update, which leaks have suggested is scheduled for release in Winter 2025. If true, this massive update could introduce luxury properties and other high-ticket content, so Rockstar may be preparing players by allocating resources in advance.
How the Bonus Works
Anyone who logs into GTA Online during the event will receive the first GTA$1,000,000 automatically.
However, there's a catch: the second million is only available to those who subscribe to the GTA+ membership. While this requirement has sparked some debate, Rockstar has continued to expand the value of its subscription service, making it an appealing option for many.
The subscription itself costs $7.99 per month and comes with a wide variety of perks. In addition to securing the extra million from this giveaway, GTA+ members receive GTA$500,000 every month, access to free in-game abilities, the exclusive Vinewood Club Garage, exclusive vehicles, and unique discounts. Subscribers also gain access to select Rockstar titles included in the service, ensuring it isn't limited to just GTA Online bonuses.
Whether or not the subscription is worth it ultimately depends on the player. Some may find the constant flow of rewards and perks extremely beneficial, while others may feel the extra cost isn’t necessary. Regardless, Rockstar’s decision to tie part of the giveaway to GTA+ ensures more players are at least tempted to try it.
That said, it’s worth remembering that the base GTA$1,000,000 is completely free and available to every player, no strings attached. The offer remains valid until September 17, so fans should make sure to log in and claim their rewards before the deadline. If your bonuses don't appear immediately, do not worry; Rockstar notes it may take up to 72 hours for them to show up.
